Diese neue Ausgabe von Pancirolis üppig illustriertem Architektur- und Kunstführer über Rom enthält auch eine detaillierte Chronik der Stadt zwischen 1700 und 1724. Die Textholzstiche noch ganz im Stil des 17. Jahrhunderts bilden einen reizvollen Kontrast zu den moderneren gefalteten Kupferstichen, von denen unserem Exemplar wohl einige fehlen.
