First edition. Pamphlet. 8vo. ( 189mm. ) Pp. [5] 6 - 24. All edges gilt. Contents clean. Manuscript " Bookplate " of " Thomas Charles | Davies | White Friars | Chester " on the front pastedown executed in a very neat hand. Contemporary calf rubbed and slightly soiled. Yellow endpapers. Little is known of the Schofield's other than their third son Robert Harold Ainsworth Schofield (18511883), was one of the earliest medical missionaries to China. His mother and father appear to have been financially and socially very secure. The is pamphlet is seemingly unrecorded, the Library Hub Discover ( on - line 11 / 19 ) does not trace any copies.
