Two vintage studio still photographs from a re-release of the 1954 film musical. Based on Wilhelm Meyer-Förster's 1901 play "Old Heidelberg," and on Dorothy Donnelly and Sigmund Romberg's 1924 operetta "The Student Prince." The heir to a small, poor German kingdom must choose between his royal obligations and his romance with a lovely barmaid. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good, with rust and pinholes at the corners, and one with a short closed tear at the center bottom margin.

Vintage publicity photograph of actor Edmund Purdom from the 1954 film. Based on the 1901 play, "Alt Heidelberg," by Wilhelm Meyer-Förster and the 1924 operetta adaptation with libretto by Dorothy Donnelly. A young Prince is arranged to marry a Princess but she does not find him to be kind or warm. The Prince is sent away to university to help him become better socialized, until the King falls horribly ill. Set in Germany. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.

Collection of 11 vintage single weight studio still photographs from 1962 (5 photos) and 1969 re-release (6 photos) of the 1954 film, under the title, "Student Prince." Starring actor Purdom, who played the prince, is prominently featured, sometimes sword fighting. One image from the set is shown. Please inquire for others. Based on the 1924 operetta of the same name by Sigmund Romberg and Dorothy Donnelly, which in turn was based on the 1901 play "Old Heidelburg" by Wilhelm Eyer-Forster, itself filmed four times between 1915 and 1959. Mario Lanza was originally slated to star in the film, but a dispute with MGM led him to getting fired from the picture. However, MGM retained the rights to his already recorded vocals, and had replacement Purdom lip sync them in the film. Ironically, the songs "Beloved" and "Serenade" would become heavily associated with Lanza after the film and cast recording were hits. Edmund Gwenn has a supporting role, years after his enchanting starring role as Kris Kringle in "Miracle on 34th St" (1947). 8 x 10 inches. Light toning, a diagonal crease to 1 still, else Near Fine overall.

Limited Edition fine art giclee print, one of 25 unnumbered and unsigned copies, designed by artist Zach Tutor for the 2001 film, circa 2014. Tutor exhibited the dark and haunting artwork as part of the exhibition "In Dreams: An Art Show Tribute to the Films of David Lynch" at the Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco, March 8 through March 29, 2014. Zach Tutor is an artist and curator living in Oxford, Mississippi. Named one of the "100 Best Southern Artists" by Oxford American in 2012, he has written for Juxtapoz and Hi-Fructose magazines, curates artists for The People's Printshop in Berkeley, California, runs the virtual exhibition space Supersonic Art Shop, and since 2012 has curated the acclaimed yearly contemporary art showcase the Supersonic Invitational at Spoke Art Gallery and Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco and New York. Lynch's dreamlike neo-noir fable of the Hollywood dream turned nightmare, featuring outstanding performances by leads Laura Elena Harring and Naomi Watts in dual roles which darkly shift midway through the narrative.
