Perfect bound color pictorial sandy brown heavy paper wrappers with a single closed tear 3/…4" long to bottom edge of front wrapper and discolored lower fore edge corner tip on front wrapper for what otherwise is an as new copy of the book. [48] pp. Book III of Lada's Cheerful Textbooks is illustrated with twenty-four full color, three-quarter page drawings of anthropomorphic insects by the famed Czech painter, illustrator and writer, Josef Lada; evidently smoking among anthropomorphic insects was rampant in 1932 as fully one-quarter of Lada's drawings depict pipe smoking insects; Lada's illustrations are supplemented with Josef Foltyn's verses and scientific notes by Prof. Victor Jedlicka; internally the book is without flaw. The condition of the book is FINE. Only two copies (New York Public Library System; Princeton University Library) located on OCLC/WorldCat.
