In der Praxis sind nahezu 50% der durch Dermatologen verordneten Externa Magistralrezepturen. Es ist unumgänglich, daß die Magistralr…ezeptur dem gegenwärtigen Stand des wissenschaftlichen Fortschrittes angepaßt wird. Obsolete Wirkstoffe müssen vermieden werden. Die Galenik soll optimalisiert werden. Ähnlich wie bei Spezialitäten soll sich der verordnende Arzt darauf verlassen können, daß bei empfohlenen Magistralrezepturen die pharmakologische Wirkung des Wirkstoffes in der Grundlage gesichert oder zumindest sehr wahrscheinlich ist. Externagrundlagen für bestimmte Indikationen sollen gezielt unter wissenschaftlichen Gesichtspunkten zusammengestellt werden. Hauptanliegen des Buches sind gezielte therapeutische Empfehlungen unter diesen Gesichtspunkten. Zu den zahlreichen dermatologischen Spezialitäten sind eine Reihe industrieller Neuentwicklungen gekommen, die das Bild der dermatologischen Externatherapie wesentlich verändert haben. Trotzdem können viele therapeutische Möglichkeiten in der Dermatologie nur mit Hilfe der Magistralrezeptur genützt werden. Auch für die Magistralrezeptur gilt der Grundsatz der Qualitätskontrolle. Es müssen also pharmazeutische Qualität und Effektivität der Rezeptur gesichert sein. Ebenso wie bei der Therapie mit Fertigarzneimitteln muß das Konzept der Therapie wissenschaftlichen Kriterien entsprechen. Spezielle Gesichtspunkte bei der Therapie des Kindes müssen berücksichtigt werden. Diese Anforderungen sind eine Herausforderung für Arzt und Apotheker.
