Nance, also known as Soulsista, is a photographer, storyteller, new-media artist and educator. She has won numerous awards for photography of African spiritual culture in America. Her work has been exhibited at New York's Museum of Modern Art and is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Library of Congress, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
