Contained in the Museum's Annals, 14(1), with two other papers of herpetological interest, viz. "On the South African species of the genus Zonurus" [= Smaug] by J. H. Power (nine pp., text figure), with a new subspecies and key to the taxa, and "Notes on some labyrinthodonts in the Transvaal Museum" by R. Broom (11 pp., ten text figures), also with new species. Uncut. Unopened. Stamp on the front wrapper and first text page of the Labyrinthodon paper, the Fitzsimons and Power papers entirely clean. Rare.

Original pictorial wrappers. = Two important zoological contributions, with many new species, especially of reptiles, published in the Annals of the Transvaal Museum, Volume 16. The part by Fitzsimons is about twice the size of that by Fowler. Both are very well-illustrated. More results were published, mainly entomological and ethnological, but these are the complete ichthyological and herpetological parts. Uncut. Disbound. = Rare paper by the South African herpetologist Vivian Frederick Maynard Fitzsimons, (1905-1975) who was the director of the Transvaal Museum. It deals with the herpetofauna of the most northwestern part of South Africa and Namibia and includes the description and illustration of nine new species and subspecies, including a new turtle. Published in the Museum's Annale or Annals, volume 18. A very good, clean copy.
