Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Freedom; A Story of Young India' is a compelling narrative that captures the spirit of a nation on the brink of profound change. Set against the backdrop of the early 20th-century Indian independence movement, this work explores the lives and aspirations of young Indians as they navigate the… complexities of tradition, modern education, and the passionate quest for self-governance. Written by the esteemed educator and social activist Welthy Honsinger Fisher, the story provides an insightful look into the social and political atmosphere of a country striving for autonomy. The narrative follows the journeys of its young protagonists as they confront the challenges of a society in transition. Through their eyes, readers witness the struggle against colonial constraints and the awakening of a collective national identity. Fisher's intimate knowledge of the region allows her to portray the cultural nuances and historical tensions of the era with sensitivity and depth. 'Freedom; A Story of Young India' remains a significant literary contribution, offering a poignant perspective on the human element within the broader historical movement for Indian independence. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'The Top of the World' is an evocative personal narrative by Welthy Honsinger Fisher, detailing a remarkable journey through the towering peaks of the Himalayas and into the remote landscapes of Tibet. Writing with the keen eye of both an explorer and a devoted missionary, Fisher captures the… breathtaking beauty of the world's highest mountains and the unique cultural tapestry of the peoples residing in these isolated regions. The narrative provides a rare, early 20th-century perspective on a geographic area that remained largely inaccessible to Western travelers at the time.Throughout the work, Fisher blends travel observations with reflections on faith and the human spirit, offering readers a glimpse into the spiritual and social conditions of the Far East during the 1920s. Her account is not merely a record of physical distance traveled, but a testament to the endurance and curiosity required to navigate the 'roof of the world.' This volume serves as a significant historical document for those interested in women's travel writing, Asian history, and the intersection of missionary work and cross-cultural exploration. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
