Bechtel Corporation, founded in 1980, expanded internationally during World War Two and after, and established itself as a leading engineering and construction company in the burgeoning Middle East oil industry through the 1940s and 1950s. By the time this book was published, charting 15 years of Bechtel in Arabia, the company had completed 57 major refinery units in the Arabian Peninsula and Mediterranean. An excellent photographic record, this book is widely held in American institutions (likely liberally donated by the company at the time of publication) but very scarce in commerce.…
