Signed presentation from Byard on a front blank page: "To Constance [Deeming?] Lewis, Who joins me in telling of the long, long [[illegible word] in a word. Dorothy Randolph Byard, Silvermine, 1937." A very scarce book of poetry. Byard was a member of the Randolph family of Philadelphia, who were instrumental in founding Princeton University. She studied at the Academie Julien in Paris and lived in the Silvermine section of Norwalk, Connecticut. She was a member of the Silvermine Group of Artists and later the Silvermine Art Guild. With a great Art-Deco illustration on the front cover of the dust jacket by Major Felten- an American visual artist and illustrator, who also lived in Connecticut. Signed.

Some foxing to boards, text block edges, and a bit to early and last leaves, else largely clean. A bit of wear to spine ends. Firm. Signed.

Signed in matrix, lower right. A spectacular and large performance poster by the noted Art Deco designer and illustrator Major Felten (1904-1975). Undated, but after 1930 (when Shawn and Ruth St. Denis dissolved their Denishawn Company and Shawn established his own modern dance troupe, Ted Shawn and His Dancers, sometimes billed as Ted Shawn and His Men Dancers). Apparently rare, with only a single example noted at auction, none catalogued in institutional collections (as of October 2023).
