Published on the occasion of Felipe Ehrenberg s retrospective exhibition at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Although no publication date is stated, the introduction notes that the works presented are from the previous four years. Several works are dated between 1969 and 1973, a period that coincides with the founding of Beau Geste Press by Ehrenberg in collaboration with Martha Hellion and David Mayor. Spanish text with black and white reproductions. Felipe Ehrenberg was a Mexican artist who worked in painting, drawing, printmaking and performance, among other mediums. He also published books and magazines. Ehrenberg's artistic career of more than 50 years covered the conceptual art of the seventies, including mail art and mimeography, a neographical technique of which he was a pioneer. His multifaceted personality rendered a classical classification of his work difficult, so he defined himself as a neologist since the seventies; the term itself is a neologism which underlines the experimental characteristics of his work. The colophon booklet only which would originally have been in a box with various printed sheets. An extensive introductory text by Ehrenberg discussing his practice and context for making the piece. Ehrenberg mentions the political activities which he listened to on the radio while making the work - Irish marches and miners rallying in Trafalgar square. On the fourth page of text, after much unique descriptive content, Ehrenberg states "i figure the 8 quid i'm charging is a nice low price (i'm not trying to sell it to you: if you're reading this you're surely the owner allready) for what i call the MIMEOFOLIO #1." Each small artists' booklet usually featuring one artist. Artists include: Peter Stembura, Endre Tot, Robert Filliou, Genesis P-Orridge, Herman De Vries, Felipe Ehrenberg, Jirí Valoch, Ewa Partum Raul Marroquin, Bogdanka Poznanovic and Miroljub Todoorovi . Each cover has artist's initials, hand stamped and on the back cover the number of the booklet is hand stamped. Editions 1-50 were produced between 1973-75. According to the editor, all are first editions apart from No.34 (Robert Filliou), which was reprented in a 50 copy edition in 1984. Recently it came to light that 4 additional booklets were published between 1975-77.
