Handsome first edition, with colophon at rear noting limitation of 195 numbered copies (this #127). Boldly signed by Farran in black ink on half-title page. Laid in is a nice 16mo six-page promotional leaflet, "Comment Upon the Ballad of the Silver Ring," featuring blurbs from such writers as Hamlin Garland, Stephen Vincent Benét and Frank Luther Mott. Farran (1902-86) was a naval commander in the Korean War but is best known as the author of numerous poems, plays and short stories.
