Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: near fine. First edition. First edition. Blue cloth, 423 pp. The seminal work on sponsored health care in the United States, published a year after the passage of the Social Security Act of 1935. At the time, the U.S. lagged seriously behind other progressive countries in both the study and adoption of methods to protect wage-earners against sickness, disability and invalidity. This book was the result of a three year study of the burdens created by sickness and of the opportunities for health insurance in the U.S. Part One deals with the then-current state of health care; Part Two examines the health care systems of other developed nations; Part Three relates the observations of European health care to our own experiences in workman's compensation and voluntary insurance. A fine copy in near fine dust jacket of an important and very difficult to find book.
