Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Art and Artists of the Capitol of the United States of America' offers an extensive and scholarly examination of the artistic heritage housed within the nation's most prominent legislative building. It serves as a vital record of the creative minds whose works have shaped the visual identity of American democracy, covering everything from the grand frescoes of the Rotunda to the intimate details of the building's corridors. The book provides detailed historical narratives regarding the commissions and the artists behind them, illuminating the cultural and political motivations that guided the decoration of the Capitol through various eras of construction and expansion.
