In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Very Good Indeed. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. None (illustrator). First edition. A scarce first edition of this novel from the Bulldog Drummond detective series, originated by Sapper and continued by Gerard Fairlie after his death. This work is a first edition, in original publisher's cloth binding with the unclipped dust wrapper. The Bulldog Drummond collection was a series of novels featuring the character Hugh 'Bulldog' Drummond. They were originated by Herman Cyril McNeile, a British soldier and author who wrote under the pseudonym 'Sapper' due to the fact that serving officers in the British Army were not allowed to publish under their own name. Gerard Fairlie was an English writer and scriptwriter, on whom McNeile supposedly based Bulldog Drummond. After McNeiles death in 1937, Fairlie continued the Bulldog Drummond series. McNeile and Fairlie were working on this particular novel together, but McNeile died before it was finished. With an ink inscription to the front endpaper, of Mary Iviney. In original publisher's blue cloth binding with the unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart, with minor shelf wear and light rubbing to the cloth. Slight fading to the extremities, mainly to the spine, with the odd mark to boards. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Dust wrapper in good condition with chipping to the extremities and the odd closed tear. The occasional mark to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed. book.
