Thoroughly illustrated from wood engravings, as well as nineteen chromolithographic prints by F. Kellerhoven. Small signature of a previous owner written neatly inside front cover. The arts described here include furniture, tapestries, ceramics, armour, metalwork, musical instruments, painting, sculpture, architecture, and much more. Perhaps not surprisingly, "Bibliophile Jacob" included chapters on parchment and paper, manuscripts, miniatures, bookbinding and printing.
