Published in 1899, this is the First edition of this historical work on this freshwater lake in the Stirling area of Scotland, Illustrated with Pen and ink Drawings by Walter Bain. The book was published in limited numbers with a list of subscribers to the front, 10 inches tall approx., 357 pages with illustrations, printed on handmade paper with deckled edges. This example retains the very rare dustjacket which is printed on paper but has a hessian cloth like feel and finish to it. CONDITION The jacket has a few small nicks at corners and spine ends, a minor stain to the spine panel, else is in remarkably fresh and clean condition. Books cover is clean, internally some browning to endpapers, a few minor foxing spots within, else in good condition. A VERY RARE SURVIVIAL WITH THE DUSTJACKET, AND POSSIBLY THE ONLY SURVIVING EXAMPLE OF THE DUSTJACKET. Walter Bain (illustrator).…
