Thomas Evans (1755-1815) was a member of the Federalist Party, representing Virginia's 12th Congressional District from 1797-1801. He wrote this Federalist attack piece on President Jefferson using the pseudonym "Tacitus.". The first edition of A Series Of Letters, Addressed To Thomas Jefferson, Esq., Concerning His Official Conduct and Principles by Tacitus, published in Philadelphia in 1802. This work is attributed to the Virginia Federalist, Rep. Thomas Evans. (illustrator).
