Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Politik - Internationale Politik - Allgemeines und Theorien, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich grundlegend mit dem Wahlverhalten des 'rationalen Wählers' nach Anthony Downs. Dieser beschäftigte sich erstmals in seiner Studie: 'An economic theory of democracy' aus dem Jahr 1957 mit dem Verhalten eines jeden Menschen, eine Entscheidung vor dem Treffen rational abzuwiegen. Somit basiert das Modell des rationalen Wählers auf einer Rational Choice-Theorie, mit der sich Downs über die Jahre auseinandergesetzt hat. Im Wesentlichen beschäftigt sich die Rational Choice-Theorie nach Downs damit, für welche politische Partei ein rationaler Wähler stimmt, wann und warum er sich demnach dazu entschließt, sie zu wählen. Bei logischer Umsetzung der oben genannten Rational Choice-Theorie wird schnell klar, dass bei dem Thema 'Wahlbeteiligung' ein Widerspruch entsteht. Man stößt auf das sogenannte 'Wahlparadoxon', was im Groben besagt, dass eine Beteiligung an Wahlen nicht lohnenswert für die Nutzenmaximierung des einzelnen Individuums ist. Dieses wird aber im Verlauf der Arbeit noch genauer anhand eines Beispiels erläutert. Zuvor aber beschäftige ich mich mit der Rational Choice-Theorie nach Downs selbst, verschiedener soziologischer Erklärungsgrundlagen nach Hartmut Esser um den Rahmen für das folgende Beispiel zu setzen, was sich konkret mit den Ergebnissen der amerikanischen Präsidentschaftswahl 2016 auseinandersetzt. Diese Wahl wird als empirischer Beleg und Erläuterung des Wahlparadoxons nach Karl Popper zur Hilfe gezogen. Im vierten Kapitel setze ich mich mit dem Modifikationsversuch von Downs selbst auseinander. Schließlich folgt im fünften Kapitel das Fazit sowie die Darstellung von Kritik des vorangestellten Lösungsansatzes und dazu ein Ausblick auf weitere Lösungsansätze des zuvor angesprochenen Wahlparadoxons.…
