Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - A book devoted to the renowned artist, psychoanalyst and philosopher a pioneer of the concept of matrix space Bracha Lichtenberg Ettinger (born 23 March 1948) is an Israeli French artist, writer, psychoanalyst and philosopher based in France. Born in Mandatory Palestine, she lives and works in Paris. The Israeli-French-British painter, philosopher and psychoanalyst Bracha Lichtenberg-Ettinger, the originator of the concept of matrix space, was exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in 2024. Several of her works have now been added to the permanent exhibition. This catalogue brings together the works in the exhibition. The book includes the introduction by Marie Siguier, Laure Chauvelot, and Laetitia Pesenti, with acknowledgments to Alicia Knock, who co-curated the show, and to Christine Macel, who initiated the donation and exhibition. The book features images and installation views of the show, as well as documents concerning Bracha's various projects with Centre Pompidou spanning almost 40 years. A selection of essays by distinguished writers are complemented by images of Bracha's works throughout.

Softcover , 127pp., ills. in kleur, 21.5x27cm., as new. English ISBN 9789055442836. Look at this painting, at these parts in dialogue with each other. It is like listening to silence which forces us to ask questions. Like a subversive murmur which emerges onto a threshold where we are afraid. Edmond Jabes Bracha?s art work is composed of shocks. Its gravity comes from daring to stage in art the horrendous relations between modernity and the holocaust. Its tenderness derives from the traces of a child of our time in pain, and working through the grief of our time. In attempting to conjoin these registers and their referents on the field of Painting, this work radicalises and redefines Feminism? Griselda Pollock The importance of the work of the artist is evidently its relations to the question of memory; it is a work of anamnesis, but not only of a historical past, but also of color itself and of painting itself. And so, l express my admiration. Jean-Francois Lyotard 0 g.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware -Bracha Lichtenberg Ettinger, kurz BRACHA (geb. Insights into the Vulnerability of Existence Bracha Lichtenberg Ettinger, BRACHA for short (b. Tel Aviv, 1948; lives and works in Tel Aviv and Paris), is a painter, psychoanalyst, philosopher, and peace activist. Her theory of the matrixial gaze has attracted considerable attention from the art world and academia, and her work has been discussed in the international press and is held by collections in numerous countries. In Germany, however, BRACHA was largely unknownin part because, as a daughter of Holocaust survivors, she had found it impossible for forty years to exhibit her work in the countryuntil she stepped down from the finding committee for the artistic direction of documenta 16. BRACHA was an early adopter of the photocopier as a compositional tool, mixed ashes with pigments, and interrogated documents that provided evidence of the mass murder with a view to their representability: in her paintings, women victims of the Shoah encounter female figures from ancient myth. Her ethical and aesthetic program opens up new spaces for interpersonal relations, compassion, and openness to our future. Released on occasion of BRACHAs first institutional exhibition in Germany at Kunstsammlung Nordrhein Westfalen, this publication presents a survey of her groundbreaking oeuvre. Her most recent paintings appear side by side with her early works from the 1980s, and selections from her manifold not Elektronisches Buch illustrate how the artist records her observations on current affairs in drawings and ink paintings. With a foreword by Susanne Gaensheimer, essays by Kolja Reichert and the artist as well as text fragments by Nicolas Bourriaud, Christine Buci-Glucksmann, Rosi Huhn, Jean-François Lyotard, Brian Massumi, and Griselda Pollock.DISTANZ Verlag GmbH, Hallesches Ufer 78, 10963 Berlin 144 pp. Englisch, Deutsch.
