Title page with elaborate pictorial red framing of black lettering. Historiated and decorative initials and endpieces. Tipped in a double page hand colored map of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Dalmatia with the original printed text for these regions on verso. This edition of 115 copies is set in Bembo and printed by Patrick Reach on Arches paper. Chapter headings, end-paper designs and other illustrations are derived from originals in the 1619 edition of the Mercator-Hondius Atlas. Design of this book was by Vance Garry. There are 89 copies quarter-bound in Vellum and 26 copies bound in full vellum by Kater-Crafts Bookbinders. Slipcase with minor staining and light wear, sunning around spine and foredge. Bottom and foredge uncut. Slipcase in overall good-, book in fine condition.
