Among the contents of this bulletin are a review of the German film "Anna Boleyn" directed by Ernst Lubitsch with Emil Jannings as Henry VIII. The reviewer complains about the pointless change of title to "Deception" for the American release. The film had its U S. premier in New York City on April 17, 1921. Also in this issue is an essay "Art and Censorship" by Alfred B. Kuttner, Chairman of the Committee on Critique. An unsigned article on the last page complains about the mediocre pictures of American producers with reference to D. W. Griffith's latest picture "Dream Street".

Ernst Lubitsch (Berlin 1892 in Berlin - 1947 Los Angeles) war deutscher Filmregisseur und Schauspieler mit US-amerikanischer Staatsbürgerschaft. Nachdem er in Deutschland erste Erfolge als Regisseur hatte feiern können, wechselte er in den 1920er Jahren nach Hollywood. Dort machte er sich vor allem einen Namen als Regisseur von kultivierten und eleganten "Salonkomödien".

Interior is clean and free of marks. Top edge of the text block has been bumped towards the back of the book. As a result, pages 305-315 have tiny tears in one spot along the top edge. Does not affect ability to turn pages. Exterior has moderate wear to the top, bottom, and fore edges of the covers. Front cover is creased where it meets the spine along with a few small scuffs. Back cover has a crease at the bottom corner and one near the spine. Top edge has a small tear also near the spine. Joints have some rubbing. Now protected in mylar. Overall, a very nice copy of this book. Signed by Author(s).
