Jahrhunderts, Note: 1,7, Universität Koblenz-Landau (FB 5: Institut für Erziehungswissenschaften / Philosophie), Veranstaltung: Sigmund Freud: Das Unbehagen in der Kultu…r und andere kulturtheoretische Schriften, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), österreichischer Arzt und Begründer der Psychoanalyse publizierte 1930 sein Spätwerk 'Das Unbehagen der Kultur', welches Grundlage dieser Hausarbeit ist. Wie bereits der Titel verrät, geht es in seinem Werk vorrangig um ein Gefühl des Unbehagens, das der Mensch in Zuge der Kulturentwicklung verspürt. Freud geht davon aus, dass Menschen zur Triebversagung bzw. zu einem Bedürfnisaufschub fähig sein müssen, um kulturelle Leistungen überhaupt erst erbringen zu können. Zu kulturellen Leistungen zählt Freud unter anderem Zusammenschlüsse der Menschen zu Familie und Gemeinschaft, Bau von Wohnstätten sowie technische und medizinische Errungenschaften. Freud geht in seiner Argumentation sogar auf die Anfänge der Menschheitsgeschichte zurück und rekonstruiert die Kulturentwicklung des Menschen aus seiner Sichtweise heraus. Eros, der Liebes- oder Sexualtrieb und Tanatos, der Aggressionstrieb werden als zentrale menschliche Triebe dargestellt und genauer beleuchtet, da gerade diese nach Freuds Meinung durch kulturelle Prozesse in ihrem natürlichen Ausprägungsgrad beschnitten werden. Einmal mehr möchte Freud damit zeigen, dass die vorrangig triebgeleitete menschliche Natur der Kultur, welche auf Sozialisationsprozesse angewiesen ist, entgegensteht. Falsch wäre es jedoch anzunehmen, Freud würde der Kultur jegliche Sinnhaftigkeit absprechen. Er betont sogar, dass kulturelle Prozesse wichtig sind, jedoch nicht wesentlich zu einem gesteigerten Glücksempfinden der Menschheit beitragen oder diesem teilweise sogar im Wege stehen würden, woran unter anderem auch Freuds skeptisches und pessimistisches Menschenbild abzulesen ist.Auch in seiner Schrift zum Unbehagen in der Kultur geht Freud ebenfalls auf seine Theorie zum Triebtrias Ich, Über-Ich und Es ein, und beschreibt deren Auswirkungen auf den Kulturprozess genauer. Erkennbar ist auch, dass der jüdische Autor an verschiedenen Stellen des Textes eher atheistische Einstellungen durchblicken lässt. Freud übt Kritik an der Religion als Teil der Kulturleistung, da auch sie vom Menschen scheinbar Unmögliches verlange. Beispielsweise hält er das Gebot der Feindesliebe für nicht umsetzbar und die Religion verlange von den Menschen schmerzliche Verzichtleistungen.Auf der Grundlage dieser Annahmen, wendet sich Freud den Fragen zu:Was ist Kultur Wozu braucht der Mensch Kultur Warum entsteht beim Menschen ein Unbehagen durch Kultur Wo sind Grenzen der Kultur erkennbar.
