Half polished brown calf over brown moiré-grained cloth: competently rebacked and recornered. Illustrated with engraved title and 24 engraved plates (several transfer-printed in colors). The plates, intended for students of topographical drawing, demonstrate the conventional styles, signs, and exacting specifications required to technically produce a serviceable geographic or hydrographic map. Together with: a scarce spiral-bound facsimile of the 108-page Manual of Topography, and Text-Book of Topographical Drawing to which the present work is an accompaniment. Technical; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
