Begge originaludgaver og begge pioneerværker i sygdomsbekæmpelsen i Danmark. Det første værk er klassikeren om kønssygdommenes (og deres behandling) udbredelse i København, den anden er starten på tuberkulosens bekæmpelse. Afhandlingen om tuberkulosen er Engelsteds disputats.

Bildgröße: 36 x 49 cm ( Höhe x Breite ), alt gerahmt ( Rahmenmaß: 50 x 62 cm ). Links unten mit *M.E.* monogrammiert, undatiert ( ca. um 1910 ). Auf dem Rahmen unten mit montierter Metallplakette *Malthe Engelsted* ), verso mit montiertem altem Zeitungsausriß über Malthe Engelsted in dänischer Sprache. Gezeigt wird eine Kleinstadtansicht in der Ferne Offenbar eine Ansicht in Dänemark mit einigen Gehöften, Windmühle, Kirche und einem größeren Gebäude ( möglicherweise einem Schloß ) unter weitem blauen Himmel mit einigen Schäfchenwolken. Im Bildvordergrund einige Wiesen und eine alte Scheune, im Bildhintergrund in der Ferne ist wohl das Meer sichtbar. Das Bild ist mit dünnem Farbauftrag gemalt, etwas berieben und leicht angeschmutzt ( eine Reinigung und/oder Restaurierung wäre empfehlenswert ) - ferner gibt es eine kleine Farbabplatzung im Bereich des Himmels ( restaurierbar ), der Rahmen etwas bestoßen.
