Zustand: Fair. 1952. First Edition. 220 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering. Contains black and white illustrations. Clean pages with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to half title page, free endpaper and pastedowns. Front free endpaper is missing. Hinges are moderately cracked with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is darkened. Visible wear marks to boards.

The story is set on Dartmoor:the Sheppard family are disappointed not to be holidaying by the sea, however they soon find "that there were ponies, adventures galore;moreover a feud, and a mystery to solve." Illustrated by Anne Bullen. The jacket shows two girls and boy on horseback overlooking a view of Dartmoor. Very good indeed in very good indeed dust jacket. Very slight nibbling to head of dust jacket. Decent copy.
