Erstausgabe
Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. Vol. II, No. 4. Octavo. pp. viii, 345-452. Yellow printed wrappers. Contemporary owner name in pencil on front cover. Modest creasing at lower front corner, light scattered foxing, very good. The bulk of this issue prints the text of the "Fourth Annual Report of the American Anti-Slavery Society," and "Was Slavery Forced Upon the South?" by John Farmer, and an announcement for the publication of *Poems Written During the Progress of the Abolition Question in the United States* by John Greenleaf Whittier, including excerpts from his poetry. Elizur Wright, together with William Lloyd Garrison and other like-minded individuals, founded the American Anti-Slavery Society in 1833. The Society called for the immediate abolition of slavery, an end to racial prejudice, and equality for all. A scarce single issue in the original printed wrappers. Danky, *African-American Newspapers and Periodicals: A National Bibliography* No. 4995.
