März 1938 in Stanmore, Middlesex, England) ist eine britische Schauspielerin. Eleanor Bron wurde am Newn…ham College (Frauen-College der Universität Cambridge) ausgebildet. Nachdem sie als Star der von 1964 bis 1965 ausgestrahlten, damals beliebten kleinen Fernsehserie Not So Much a Programme, More a Way of Life zu sehen war, trat sie 1965 in der Rolle der Ahme im Beatles-Film Help! auf. Die Rolle der Emma Peel in der Fernsehserie The Avengers (deutsch: Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone) hatte sie abgelehnt. In House of Mirth (deutsch: Haus Bellomont, 2000) trat sie an der Seite von Gillian Anderson und Dan Aykroyd auf. In dem Film von Terence Davies nach Edith Whartons scharfzüngigem Roman vom Untergang der naiven Lily Bart (Gillian Anderson) spielte Bron deren Tante Julia Peniston. Der klassische Kostümfilm im New York der Wende zum 20. Jahrhundert kam in Deutschland nie in die Kinos. 2002 trat Bron erneut in einem historischen Drama auf: An der Seite von Paul Bettany, Helena Bonham Carter und Olivia Williams spielte sie die ?Mrs. Burkett? im Film The Heart of Me, einem Liebesdrama im London der 1930er- und 1940er-Jahre. Eleanor Bron ist ebenfalls als Autorin tätig, zumeist in den 1960er- und 1970er-Jahren für das britische Fernsehen (Not So Much a Programme, More a Way of Life, 1964; My Father Knew Lloyd George, 1965; The Late Show, 1966; zuletzt After That, This aus dem Jahr 1972).
