A collection of individual type specimen leaflets mostly printed in black and reddish-brown on hand-made paper (some specially watermarked, but also many other stocks). Illustrated with photographic reproductions, wood-engravings or tipped-in line drawings. Blue paper-covered box, gilt…with the press mark, canvas back with printed label. Edge of box a little rubbed, otherwise a fine copy. Produced with great zest and apparently very uncommon. Typefaces include: Mainzer Antiqua, Gavotte, Elisabeth-Antiqua, Euphorion, Memphis, Schadow-Antiqua, Shakespeare-Mediaval von Ch. H. Kleukens, Ornata, Unzial-type, Peter Jessen" Schrift (Rudolf Koch), Tiemann-Antiqua, Fichte-Fraktur, Marathon, and Faust-Antiqua. Several of the texts are from Goethe.
