Although The Title Refers To A Finding Of America, Which Is A Concept That Would Have Been Of The Greatest Surprise To The Inhabitants Who Were Found, The Book Is Otherwise Remarkable For Its Great Evenness Of Discussion Of Explorers And The Natives, A Children's Basic History Which I Think Would Still Be Largely Politically Correct Today And Which Is A Credit To, And Perhaps A Remarkable Change In, American Children's Historical Book Style, Which At Least Until This Time Was Generally Imperialist And Militaristic.
