Slight abrasion to front pastedown, probably from an ownership label having been removed. 1856 ownership signature & some notes dated 1925 on reverse of ffep. I have spotted minimal ink notes in the outer margin of one page, & there may be others elsewhere. A previous owner has practised writing 'London Englands Metropolise' in an older hand on the reverse of the dedication page of part II. The book has been exposed to damp at some time, & there is a noticeable tidemark on many pages, along with a darker mark in the upper corner of the opening pages: there is also what looks like a cigarette burn on p.347 of part I.…
