Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Nothing in life comes out as planned; instead, life is a canoe without a paddle, flowing down river. Wherever the canoe happens to bump the shoreline is where your life begins to navigate its future. These are the beliefs that Edward 'Eddy' Fallon developed about his life. Take care of number one.Typically, those of Irish ancestry, born in America, refer to themselves as Irish-American but they are Irish as much as Afro-Americans are African. Edward considered himself Irish/American, with the Irish part most dominant. The 'depression' era attitudes encouraged the corruption of legislators, law enforcers and yes, the Catholic Church. All of this molded Edward Fallon's life. The goal of most Irish mothers was for the boys to become a priest or a policeman. Ed Fallon began his youth one way and soon went the other, from Altar Boy, to Boston Policeman, to hired Mafia killer. From romance to rape, tenderness to torture, kind hearted to cruel he became a man with many oxymoronic features.…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - The combination is toxic-or explosive-depending on your perspective. But there is no doubt about it: When Sicilian Friar Tedesco Masseria immigrates to the United States and begins coupling with beautiful American Indian maidens, their Italian/Seneca offspring define the course of American history.Folks learn quickly that the Sicilian Black Hand Society, the Masserias and their friends are not to be challenged. A Texas sheriff and a team of deputies who rape and hang an innocent Indian couple learn that the hard way.Later, the Masserias and their Mafia cohorts extend their influence to the likes of Frank Sinatra, the Kennedys, the Nixon mob, Cardinal Richard James Cushing of Boston and many others. The Masserias and their associates rule with an iron fist, at one point going so far as to drown the Sandhog supervisor during construction of the Williamsburg Bridge. Soon, the syndicate turns its attention to more important matters, such as corruption in Cuba, the atomic bomb and Las Vegas. The Mafia explodes onto the scene and America is altered forever in A Cultural Affair.…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - This writing is a wonderful effort to produce a book that:Reeks with authenticityChallenges the reader to predict outcomes. Both immediate and eventual.Intertwines a moral thread throughout with the final climax.Educates historically to the current reality. Brings to the reader a colorful caste of characters.Calls attention to the bias in the hierarchy of law enforcement agencies. Points to the ethnic predominance of cops and crooks. Infuses the reader with the impression that male chauvinism predominates law enforcement. Portrays 'cops' motivation being emotional as well as moral.Asks the question, 'does might make right ''Boston Police Detective Sergeant Stuart Parnell McKeady was not fully aware of the moral debt he was incurring as he slipped progressively deeper into graft and corruption - but that debt would quickly come due.' --William 'Bill' Arbuckle Former California lawman and reviewer of books pertaining to crime cases. 'The book The Great Brink's Holdup I co-authored with Sid Feder (Murder, Inc.) was factual. Crime, Passion & Conscience is factualized fiction. In my ten years on the force, I witnessed inefficiency and outright dishonesty from the top down. This fictional account shows how temptations can overwhelm conscience in a very difficult job. I am proud of the honest majority of police and of the Boston Police Medal of Honor bestowed on me.' --Edward Anthony Gibbons.…
