Loose Pages, Articles. Zustand: Good. A striking composite selection from the first series of "Feuillets d"Art," preserving thirty-two plates, alongside literary, artistic and fashion leaves from several 1919-1920 issues. In one of the publisher"s original large-format printed card portfolios, with folding flaps and metal eyelets; ties lacking. A composite selection of original leaves and plates from several numbers of the first series, rather than a complete individual issue. The first series of this luxurious periodical comprised six irregularly published numbers between May 1919 and July 1920, each arranged into sections devoted to literature, theatre, the visual arts, music and fashion. The selection contains twenty-seven colour plates and five monochrome plates, together with numerous woodcut and other illustrations within the text. Several of the colour plates are executed in pochoir, including numbered examples by prominent illustrators of the early Art Deco period. Collated, complete. The surviving text includes material from several different numbers: Danses nouvelles et vieilles coleres by Marcel Boulenger and La Mode by Suzanne Davene, Francis Jammes"s Trois Sonnets, illustrated with original woodcuts by A. Carrera, Leo Larguier"s De l"utilisation des etoffes fastueuses dans la mode feminine, and Davene"s L"Evolution de la mode masculine. These can be identified with material from at least the first three numbers of the review. Feuillets d"Art was an ambitious luxury periodical created in 1919 by the French architect and designer Michel Dufet (1888-1985) with Edmond Moussie (1888-1933), a patron of the arts and director of the port of Bordeaux-Bassens. A substantial colllection of original material from the scarce first series. In one of the publisher"s original large-format printed card portfolios, with folding flaps and metal eyelets; ties lacking. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities of portfolio, with minor loss to paper with slight splitting to extremities. Contents loose, as issued. Slight edge wear to the odd leaf with one or two creases, handling marks, and short closed tears. Pages bright and clean with slight age toning and the odd light spot to the occasional leaf. Good. Georges Lepape, Charles Martin, Llano-Florez, Jean-Gabriel Daragnes, Edouard Halouze, Mario Simon; et al. (illustrator). book.…
