Inserted photographic plates, tipped-in colour plates, art nouveau illustrations in gold red and black usually showing Gutenberg with assistants quite scantily dressed for the printing trade, decorative ornaments. Some leaves displaying signs of hand-colouring. Original wrappers bound… into full plum morocco with marbled endpapers, titled and decorated in gilt, a little rubbed at edges, gold top. A very good copy. Covering the period 1896-1921. The illustrations are by the artist Gerard Roosen. Some ephemera of the society is also reproduced.

Édition originale de ce rapport présenté au ministre de l'industrie et du trava…il, Gustave Francotte. Il s'agit pour l'essentiel d'un compte rendu du voyage d'étude réalisé à Leipzig où un musée du livre avait été fondé en 1899. Le texte est soigneusement imprimé à la linotype dans un encadrement de style art nouveau par les membres du Cercle d'études typographiques de Bruxelles. Tirage à petit nombre sur papier Japon. Bonne reliure de l'époque, mais avec une épidermure au dos et une trace de brûlure sur le second plat. L'intérieur est très propre. Rare.
