In addition to scientific articles this issue includes the science fiction short story titled "Elixir of Life" by H.L Johnstone. The story is illustrated by Frank R. Paul who had a strong background as a technical illustrator and also contributed cover illustrations for the "Amazing Stories" pulp periodical. In addition, the page facing Johnstone's story is illustrated with vignettes portraying and describing scenes from "Mystical Movies".
