Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. pp.x, 191p, 29 albumen plates, 11 x 9 inches, a very good minus hardback (brown cloth, the front cover richly decorated in gilt, the back cover blind-stamped, and the spine lettered and decorated in gilt with bevelled boards), some flaws, minor fraying at top and bottom of spine and at the corners, plus the portrait frontispiece has been carefully removed (binding still perfect). To repeat, overall a very good book in tight condition, and there's no others published before 1867 so must be the 1st edition although that is not stated within the book.
