We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. A very good hardback, publisher's original green cloth binding with gold gilt lettering to the spine. There's a Prize sticker from a Sunday School on the verso of the ffep, this is dated 1870. The page edges are all gold gilt and the book has bevelled edges. There's an insignificant stain on the left corner of the front cover, and the book has a slight forward lean. Also, some mild foxing to early/late leaves, which is natural for a book as old as this.

In den WarenkorbSoft cover. Zustand: Very Good. Carl Chambers (illustrator). Revised. Paperback. The author looks on plants as people with their own personalities, idiosyncrasies and special language, and advises anyone who gardens to do the same. Using his 'people principle' he shows how to give you law a shampoo treatment, how to give your plants needed exercise, how to wash the faces of your flowers. He describes how plants can become carsick if not driven carefully, how they feel uncomfortable in draughts, and how lazy trees that have stopped growing have to be whipped sometimes. He gives advice on where and in what company each plant will do best, and discusses, too, budgeting and the ecological balance of the garden. Included at the end of each chapter is an invalauble qwuestion-and-answer section that deals with the most common problems. Illustrated with over twenty cheeful drawings, this edition has been adapted for the British market by Dr. W. E. Shewell-Cooper, the well-known author of over sixty gardening books. Illustrations. 248 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).

In den WarenkorbHardback. Zustand: Very Good. Reprint. No stated date c1930 - Muses Library edition (The Muses' Library of poetry was initially issued by London publisher Lawrence & Bullen in 1891, and the series ceased active publication. Routledge revived the series in 1904 and with Dutton in the US began publishing the old titles as well as new titles until the late 1930s. This book is the second volume of the poems of John Donne (c1571-1631), and includes his verse letters, epicedes and obsequies, satires, epigrams, and other works. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling and decoration on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling to the boards and bumping with a little bit of damage to the top of the spine. There is a faint water stain running along the top and spine edges of the boards and down the fore edge of the front board. The contents are tight and clean with a water stain running along the top edge and down part of the fore edge of the pages and the water has caused slight wrinkling to the top corner of the pages.
