The present volume is actually a combined edition of two books, viz., Sannyasi and Fakir Raiders in Bengal (1930) and Sannyasis in Mymensingh (1923) by Jamini Mohan Ghosh. For various reasons social and political-they were largely forgotten by the succeeding generations. But today the subject of these books, i.e. Sannyasi and Fakir Uprising or Rebellion is being given due importance by scholars.
