Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. One large quarto volume. Newsletters for two years, plus an Index to the issues bound in a sturdy red buckram volume gilt (with label of a Texas bookbinder on rear pastedown of each volume). Owner's name stamp and signature on endpapers, some slight insect damage on last two blanks, cheap paper is toned, punch holes in some upper margins where they must have been kept for a time in a spiral binder, and slightly musty. The previous owner, Texas oilman M. Lyle Cashion, has underscored many passages in the newsletters, and made a few marginal notations, overall a sound and good plus collection. The Church League of America, founded in 1937, was a right wing anti-Communist group with ties to the John Birch Society, Joseph McCarthy and others. The newsletters use church scripture to denounce various commie sympathizers and cast aspersions on the political enemies of its editor.

Zustand: Very Good. Wheaton, IL: The Church League of America, 1961. Second Printing, Revised Edition, November 1961. Signed by Bundy without inscription on flyleaf. Quarto (11" x 8.5"); 218pp. Printed paper wraps over stapled textblock. Covers rubbed along edges and a bit smudged, with a 3" razor slit at bottom front not quite splitting cover and just scratching page beneath. Bookplate of Roland K. Kiebel attached below Bundy's signature on flyleaf. Binding is sound and pages unmarked. "Counter-Subversive Study Course" by Bundy, a retired Air Force officer and ordained Baptist Minister, who helped the Church League of America rise to prominence when he became its Executive Secretary in 1956. An FBI memo from R. W. Smith to Mr. W.C. Sullivan, dated September 19, 1961 (available via Internet Archive in a FOIA-compiled document titled FBI Book Reviews, 1959-1966) writes of the book, "Bundy is professional anticommunist. Church League of America is, for all practical purposes, Bundy. This book another self-promotional scheme. Rehash of old public source material on communism exploited to develop theme. Sales pitch climaxed by appeal for funds and subscriptions to Bundy's News and Views.".
