Considered one of the prime accounts of the campaign and subsequent battle of Trafalgar during 1805. This is a translation of the 1907 first edition, published in French, and includes corrections to some source material and errata in the French edition. The work was published under the direction of the Section Historique de l'État-Major de de l'Armée. Julian S Corbett stated that he relied heavily on this work in his own 'The Campaign of Trafalgar'. Includes Vol.I - 6*folding-maps; Vol.II - 13*folding-maps, maps of both volumes loose and held in map pockets at the end of each volume. Maps as called for, all present. Vol.I - xxvii, 320pp; Vol.II - xii, 444pp. Previously owned by the London Illustrated News. Volumes bound in black cloth with gilt lettering to spines. Both volumes have spotting to boards. DJ's of both volumes heavily worn with some discolouration to panels and sunned spines. Chipping to heads and tails of both volumes' DJ spines. Vol.I has a 0.75cm closed tear to lower front panel edge and a 2cm closed tear to the spine over the upper joint. DJ panels of both volumes have fox spotting.
