The Great Reform Act, finally passed the following year in 1832, introduced changes to the parliamentary system including reductions in long-standing abuses such as seats in depopulated Rotten Boroughs, and creating seats in modern industrial towns, previously unrepresented. In addition, the franchise was extended by altering the voting criteria so that the electorate roughly doubled in size, though many residents were still unable to cast a vote. A rare ephemeral survivor - COPAC locates just a single printed copy in the UK, at Senate House Library.
