Swaine, and others) xv + 543pp; original publisher's azure cloth-covered boards elaborately gilt, 30.3 x 24 cms, housed in the original slipcase, edges fully gilt, each of the text leaves gilt-ruled, the cloth a little flecked and the spine a trifle sunned, but a very good, bright copy of this handsome publication, scarce on the market. The handsome standard edition of this sumptuous photographic record. With an introduction by Field-Marshal Earl Haig, the work is a photographic snap shot of the British Empire in Asia at the end of WWI. It pays tribute to the contribution of India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Ceylon and Malaya to the British war-effort.
