This work explores the animals housed in the Zoo, which included the Arabian oryx, greater kudus, orangutan and the now extinct quagga and thylacine.Illustrated with vignettes throughout.Volume I covers quadrupeds, Volume II birds.Sixteen pages of adverts to the front of Volume I. In a full cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, Volume I is a little worn, with lifting to the head of the spine. Chips to the spine label of Volume I, spine label to Volume II is age-toned and a little rubbed. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Faint dampstains to the boards. Spine of Volume I is faded. Hinges of Volume I are tender. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with scattered spots. Good.
