Bände 1-4 mit teils leicht beriebenen Einbänden.Die Bibliotheksexemplare haben winzige, kaum sichtbare Reste von Signaturen am Rücken sowie Stempel auf Vortitel und Titel. Jedoch keinerlei weitere Gebrauchsspuren, im Gegenteil, sie wirken frisch und ungeöffnet. Die Vorsätze teils leicht stockfleckig. / Die enorm große Atlasmappe (kein Bibl.-Expl.!) hier und da etwas schmutzig, das vordere Aussengelenk etwas angebrochen, aber stabil. Alle Karten bis auf wenige Stockflecklein tadellos. Ein Mammutwerk, bis zu dem Zeitpunkt das aufwendigste und teuerste unter der Herausgeberschaft des 'Koninklijk Nederlandsch Aardrijkskundig Genootschap',.und das will was heißen. Original uniform black and gilt printed olive cloth (text), original printed portfolio (atlas). = Fine copy of one of the main geological surveys of Celebes, or Sulawesi (Indonesia). Especially rare because of its completeness and excellent state, with the original, elaborately decorated bindings present and intact. Very richly illustrated with maps, views, etc. Written by the Dutch geologist and mining engineer Eduard Cornelius Abendanon (1878-1962). There is also a Dutch edition; the French edition, however, is rarer. Preliminary pages are numbered separately, the main text numbered consecutively. Small library stamp on front free endpapers and atlas portfolio, otherwise this is a fine set in near mint condition. Not in Cat. BM(NH).
