Original brown cloth ruled in blind, gilt titles.

The underlying boards are exposed alon…g the edges, there is a glue-stained patch on the front pastedown, and the title page, with notations in pencil, is detached, and laid in. The pages are clean. The first of Dutton's two great works for the USGS. Taken together, these works comprise the first detailed study of the four corners country and the Colorado Plateau: Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.
