Seine Erinnerungen und Erkenntnisse hat er 1879 erscheinen lassen - ein berühmtes und höchst lesenswertes Buch, das wir hiermit, leicht gekürzt, in deutscher Übersetzung vorlegen. Man erfährt vom Aufstieg und Höhepunkt eines höchst leidenschaftlichen Naturtalentes und obendrein erhält man die interessantesten Nach-richten aus Zeit und Gesellschaft nicht nur der toskanischen Hauptstadt, sondern ebenso aus Paris und London - Dupré war international. Für die Kunstgeschichte in Italien ist diese Zeitspanne noch beinahe eine terra incognita.
