Erstausgabe
Edition : First Edition. , Publisher?s decorative paper boards. Upper cover featuring black text and illustration of woman in profile surrounded by pink feathers and decorative black dots. Interior loose. Vol. 5 of (6)., Text in French.Les Feuillets D?Art, created following the success of Vogel?s illustrated fashion magazine La Gazette Du Bon Ton, comprised six issues containing ?feuillets,? or leaves, on the subjects of literature, theatre, arts and design, music, and fashion. Vogel intention in creating Les Feuillets, seen as the sequel to La Gazette, was for the magazine to find in ?the taste of the moment all that is traditional and durable.? (From the Cleveland Museum of Art.)Issue no. 5 of Les Feuillets contains the work of authors Jean Giradoux, Paul Morand, and Georges Gabory and sixteen plates featuring art by Gérard Cochet, Valentine J. Hugo, Marie Laurencin, Paul Thévenaz, Pierre Puget, Chana Orloff, and pochoirs and photographs of the Theatre Daunou. The issue contains an abundance of illustrations and pochoirs throughout. The pochoir trend faded soon after Les Feuillets went out of production following the release of its sixth and final issue, and the magazine remains an important example of this French artistic style.Lucien Vogel (1886 ? 1954) was an influential figure and publisher involved in the French fashion and art scene of the time, best known for creating the influential fashion magazine, La Gazette Du Bon Ton., Size : Quarto(241x196mm), P. 195 ? 238. Very good. Jacket has minor tears and faint stains.
