With fourteen pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. A volume of short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, including a total of eighteen gripping tales. This volume includes 'The Last Galley', 'Through the Veil', 'The Coming of the Huns', 'The Silver Mirror'' 'Giant Maximin', and more. In the original red publisher's binding. Externally generally smart with bumping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Damp staining to the extremities of the boards, with tidemarks to the gutter and extremities of the pastedowns. Front hinge slightly strained but firm. Evidence of bookplate removal to front pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Good. book.

Pictorial boards. Zustand: Very Good +. N.C. Wyeth (illustrator). The 1922 1st thus, the 1st appearance of the N.C. Wyeth illustrations, and in a superb example of the uncommon pictorial dustjacket. Tight and VG+ (very light offsetting to the endsheets, a touch of mild rubbing at the front panel and light foxing along the fore-edge) in an especially crisp, easily VG+ dustjacket, with light spotting to the rear panel and the rear flap. Still though, very presentable and appealing. The nicest copy in dustjacket this bookseller has encountered.
