Someone, in all probability a woman in view of poneomene, has done something which is being compared to the drinking habits of the Thracians or Phrygians. That this something is obscene has been generally acknowledged by critics of the passage and is supported by the last phrase. Let us, therefore, examine first the meaning of kýbda and poneoméne.
