The tricks described include 'The Masonic Apron' which was specially devised for use as entertainment at masonic events. The Order of the Magi was founded in Manchester in 1909. It was the third Magic Society to be formed in England and is now one of the largest in the country. Christopher Brinson (1947 Ð 2017), researcher, historian and magic collector was the author of 'Owen Clark a Genius Forgotten'. Bert Douglas (1897 Ð 1974), born Douglas Robert Smith in Scotland was a prolific author and inventor of magic, living most of his life in Canada where he became good friends with the illustrator Sid Lorraine (1905 Ð 1989), who was born Sidney Richard Johnson and then emigrated to Canada from England. He was a commercial artist and amateur magician who became the official artist of the International Brotherhood of Magicians in 1925. 'The Linking Ring' was their monthly journal of magic. Lower edge of boards darkened, dust jacket spine faded and covers well used. Very good in slightly used dust jacket.
